Hilda Fogelson escaped Germany through the Kindertransport, a rescue effort to save thousands of Jewish children from Nazi-occupied areas before World War II. She remembers her dad’s inventive way to sneak his expensive photography equipment out of the country before they left. But he never was able to use the cameras to take photos in America.
