Being part of #nextgenradio has been a great experience for me. At first, it seemed like a lot of work, but the guidance of my mentor Susan kept me sane.

The best part of this program was getting to learn from trained professionals. Susan taught me different editing techniques I didn’t know that made my radio piece sound flawless. My favorite part of the experience was my car ride with Susan to visit Hilda Fogelson. Although we ran into typical L.A. traffic, I got to know Susan from that ride. She shared valuable work and school advice, and I got to hear from her fellowships in Germany. I really enjoyed connecting with her and getting to know her. I feel like a gained a mentor.
